Students Create Commemorative Event Video for Dr Kershaws Hospice
Year 13 students Chris Folawole and Ulfat Sarwary were recently involved in a live project with Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The students were tasked with creating a video for their annual commemorative event; Light up a Life. The event held on the Hospice grounds, is a multi-faith service to celebrate and remember loved ones with readings and music.
The students ran the project from start to finish including on-site planning meetings to liaise with the Project Coordinator, creating a timeline, defining roles and responsibilities. They also ensured they had all the required resources for the project, such as cameras, video equipment and tripods etc..
The day of the event was met with inclement weather, but the students handled the pressure and issues thrown at them in a professional manner. They were able to complete the project successfully despite being unable to capture live content.

A huge well done to Chris and Ulfat who received glowing feedback for their efforts:
I wanted to thank you for the time and effort you’ve spent on our Light up a Life video ....Given the difficult circumstances with the weather we are especially grateful to have something to share with our community. It has been a real pleasure to meet you both and work with you. I wish you all the best in your studies and for the future.
Alice Entwistle, Fundraising Events Lead
Thank you so much for the work on this video, I really like the way you have included photos from the night, especially the light switch on! The feedback has been really positive. Well done to the team!
