Oxford University Drop In
On Wednesday 25 January, Anna Fiteni, the Assistant Outreach Officer of Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, came to OSFC to spend the afternoon working with our Year 12 Oxbridge Group. The group benefited from Anna's detailed presentation on all things Oxford, from colleges and courses, to applications and entrance exams, not to mention some of Oxford's traditions and quirks. This was followed by an extensive Q & A session, where the cohort of over 50 students bombarded Anna with question after question, underlining their eagerness to learn more about the possibilities and benefits of an Oxford education.
The students were fully involved and gained a huge amount from the presentation and questioning. They made a positive impression on Anna who contacted OSFC afterwards:
‘Speaking to students at Oldham Sixth Form College was an absolute delight. They were engaged throughout and asked some fantastic questions, which led to a really productive and exciting Q&A. The day was wonderfully organised, and I hope to be able to visit again soon!’
Indeed, OSFC students will be visiting Oxford for an Open Day in June, enjoying an overnight stay at Corpus Christi and Christ Church colleges, and they can't wait for that first hand experience!
