Oldham Sixth Form College Welcomes Leader of Manchester City Council, Bev Craig

Oldham Sixth Form College (OSFC) was delighted to welcome Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council, on Tuesday 30 June, where she met with Politics and Economics students to discuss current affairs, leadership and public service. 

Hosted by Principal, Suzannah Reeves, the visit gave students the opportunity to hear first hand about Craig’s career in local government, the role of civic leadership and the challenges and opportunities facing Greater Manchester. Following an engaging talk, students took part in a lively question and answer session, asking thoughtful questions about their community, politics, local democracy and the future of our region.

The visit formed part of OSFC’s commitment to enriching students' learning beyond the classroom by affording them opportunities to engage with influential leaders and professionals and actively engage with their communities. Students were able to deepen their understanding of the subjects they study, while gaining valuable real world insight into the realities of public office.
