OSFC visits Mayoral Chambers

On the 19th June 2023, the Politics team took the whole AS cohort to Oldham Civic Centre to meet with the local councillor Cllr Surjan and the Mayor of Oldham Councillor Dr Zahid Chauhan OBE FRCGP.  They were invited for formal questions and answers in the council chamber which was then followed with tea and biscuits in the Mayor’s Parlour. They were able to ask more questions and the Mayor was happy to have lots of photographs with the students. The students were invited to sign the Mayor’s Visitors Book as a memory of the morning. The students left with lots more information regarding local politics and also an emphasis from the Mayor and Cllr Surjan on all working together for the benefit of each other and the whole town of Oldham.
