Law Students Visit London

Year 13 A Level and BTEC Law students enjoyed an inspiring three day trip to London in early December. The students were fortunate to be able to watch both murder and terrorist trials in the most famous criminal court in London, The Old Bailey. They visited the Houses of Parliament and were invited to enter both the House of Commons and the House of Lords to find out more about their law making responsibilities for the UK. Whilst at the Houses of Parliament, the students met with Local MP Debbie Abrahams for an informative question and answer session.

During their visit, they also visited The Supreme Court where they learnt about its function as the highest appeal court in the country and had the amazing opportunity to watch the top judges in the land in action in the courtroom. A lobbyist also spoke to them about her passion for protecting human rights. If that wasn't enough, there was also time for some fun down at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park!

A Level Law student, Renee said:

“I’ve loved the London Trip! Although we only went for a few days we have experienced so many new places. My highlight was experiencing an actual sentencing trial in The Old Bailey.”
