Bank of America: Alumna, Syra Khan visit
Business and Financial Studies students benefited from a visit of OSFC alumna and Bank of America employee Syra Khan on Thursday 23 February. Syra’s current role is Senior Officer, Financial Analyst and she hopes to become ACCA qualified after sitting her final exam later this year. Syra talked to students about her career journey, what investment banking is all about and what it was like to train as an Accountant. The students were also able to ask Syra questions about her role and journey into the profession.
Syra Khan graduated from OSFC in 2016 after studying A Levels in Economics, Government and Politics and Sociology. She then embarked on an Accounting and Finance degree at Manchester Metropolitan University before joining a Graduate Scheme with Bank of America in 2020.
Nina Peplow, Business Studies Tutor, loved being able to welcome back former students to inspire our current cohort;
We want to try and inspire our students to explore different careers within the industry and to increase their exposure to more employers. Meeting former students, like Syra, enables our current students to see what they could achieve.
