What Will You Learn?
The Financial Studies course encourages you to become responsible borrowers and sensible savers, and to appreciate the need for financial planning throughout your whole life. It is designed to provide you with a challenging qualification covering the core disciplines of financial capability, including financial management in the short, medium and long term.
Students will develop their confidence and interpersonal skills and their ability to identify and evaluate the core financial principles.
Modules
Year 1 - CEFS
Unit-1- Financial capability Immediate and Short term - You will gain an appreciation of why money is important through focusing on what money is, attitudes to it and how it can affect life choices.
Unit 2- Financial Capability Medium and Long Term - You will gain the ability to plan and manage financial needs in the medium and long term with particular reference to the importance of budgeting for future aspirations and life events.
Year 2 - DipFS
Unit 3- Sustainability of the individuals Finances – You will learn about the importance of financial sustainability for the individual and develop skills to ensure that financial education is sustained over time.
Unit 4- Suitability of the Financial services system- You will explore the financial services system and look at how financial services work and compete with one another.
